Perfect Brewing Guide
Measure Coffee
Use 1-2 tablespoons (7-14g) of coffee per 6oz (180ml) of water. Adjust to taste.
Grind Size
Medium grind, similar to sand. Not too fine, not too coarse.
Water Temperature
195-205°F (90-96°C). Most drip machines heat to the right temp automatically.
Brew Time
4-6 minutes total brew time. Serve immediately for best flavor.
Ratio
1:15 ratio - 30g coffee to 450ml water (makes about 2 cups)
Grind Size
Coarse grind, like sea salt. Too fine will make it bitter and muddy.
Add Water & Stir
Add hot water (200°F/93°C), stir gently, place lid on top (don't press yet).
Steep & Press
Wait 4 minutes. Press plunger slowly and steadily. Serve immediately.
Dose
18-20g of coffee for a double shot. Adjust based on your basket size.
Grind Fine
Very fine grind, like table salt. This is key to proper extraction.
Tamp & Lock
Tamp evenly with 30lbs pressure. Lock portafilter into machine.
Pull Shot
25-30 seconds extraction time. Aim for 2oz (60ml) output. Enjoy!
Ratio & Grind
1:16 ratio (25g coffee to 400ml water). Medium-fine grind.
Rinse Filter
Place filter in dripper, rinse with hot water to remove paper taste.
Bloom
Add 2x coffee weight in water (50ml). Wait 30-45 seconds for bloom.
Pour in Circles
Slowly pour remaining water in circular motion. Total time: 3-4 minutes.
